sky's not the limit

Higher, Faster, Stronger
im convinced that i hold the key to my destiny and how the future turns out is how i approach it - nothing else.
fight as i may. i will be higher faster stronger, literally and metaphorically.

i have realised that the innovation and creativity of students are what keep the teaching passion fueling. its heartening to realise that such bright sparks exist in our sadly battered youths who have so much to contemplate just to strive to be the best - they do not know why they want to be the best, they just want to be the best.
of cos, a teacher's job is to create the results and in a more practical note, to make sure her political agenda remains sound. 'my students must do well'. DOING WELL means alot of things to many people. to the ministry, its results. definitely, they aint going to qualitatively measure each student and qualify him/her your promotion grades.
then comes the balance between teaching and other unnecessary administrative stuff that encumbers the teacher just like that of almost any other government organisation. even if one strikes the delicate balance in that intertwined situation, most of the time is spent on the other side of teaching.
when you aint know what hit you, you are too busy trying to follow this crowd and fit into the common stream of culture.
the lucky thing, i am a relief and i haven bothered to do any of that. its still quite clear and simple to me: a good student is one who has the character to excel in life - not studies per se. and i seek to develop that person in every student i handle. they are learning through the tough time the processes which will guide them in life and not the content which they place ultimate emphasis upon. which of cos, the government and other teachers
do willingly oblige to assist.
the reason why people lose interest in things they do, especially in teaching is because they NEVER appreciate what they do. and this mentality perpetuates in whatever they do, if you actually observe. that is not the hallmark of any successful man in life (note i dont give a shit about how big you are in the circle or in the hall of fame chart). if you actually take time to appreciate it, you will see the sparkle in each student's eye and the desire to make that shine brighten. there's something special in everyone and as a teacher, the job is to make that uniqueness stand out for them, built upon excellent character to face life's challenges.
of cos, i do take a very one sided approach or wad not but that's me and i do view things very narrowly. i am just finding a way to vent my frustrations on the life of many teachers right now. i know who is worthy, who is not.
