first day of fieldcamp - where mud was boot height high. MISERY.

end of fieldcamp. (the 8km march back)
eys, ima back from sispec. spent this week quite quickly because of the wrapping up of many theory stuff related to section movements and weaponry. had 3 live firings over this 2 weeks that past, mainly tripflare, matador + m203, saw + sar21. breathe another sigh of relief at the successful firing for the weapons. heng no misfire :) sispec life's getting more and more interesting, had e first nights out on wednesday after our lessons ended at 3pm. had the night to ourselves as we made way to jurong point, had bananasplit @ swensons and talk cock all e way. the week was also mixedly tough because of my strained tendons on both arms which worsened over the weekend be4 i booked in. coudlt hold much stuff or do straineous activities, so had to sit out some stuff. eventually when ippt hit on saturday, i managed to get the silver that i missed out sorely the previous categorisation test. yuppy, no more ippt for this bslc 10 weeks! because our conducting says can choose not to retake for silver, great job yongchuen!
this week made me realise something.
i am beginning to really love my secion.
people in there are qutie selfless, while they strive hard for wadever they aspire, they do it with dignity and tact. we practically haf 'happy hour' everynight, sitting around the tables eating the food we all contribute in a potluck manner, talking cock. jungle man's become our hottest issue of contention here, and our jokes about this issue really kept my days flowing neatly in the jail. haha, well sispec issnt tat bad after all ok. ah, yea, we do lotsa cock stuff too, things that i shouldnt really mention, but haha, aik siang, mervin, kai sheng and me are always up to sth hilarious and keng. really like my buddy, he shares the same mentality as me - do the bare minimum. either way, my influence or his influence, we are beginning to do things almost the same way. both of us pushed together in 2.4km like some gays and made it almost 10flat for 2.4, really great timing we never achieved b4 but we achieved it astonishingly! haha. we bitch about everything possible, top 10 ahem, jungle man, people in the platoon, sergeants, army life. my fav phrase everyone knows now is "whatever you do, you still ord on the same day". entire world knows i cherish ord more than anything haha, well of cos, dont the rest share the same sentiments?
to end off, here's a great quote my buddy said.
"section mates are the ones who make army life bearable." - kaisheng.
this week also made me realise another thing.
my disgust at army.
everyday in camp i will verbally curse army life, couting my days down to ord. i practically even haf this calandar in my notebook, cancelling out every day to see me edge closer and closer to ending this. pity the delta coy fella who will be so innocently court marshalled for something he din even realise hit him. guard duty, forgot to check properly the rounds issued to him and when he returned, he was accused of losing one round just because it did not match the records of issue. if he goes into db, his university dream is almost over. pity the poly guy in the 38th bslc batch who lost his rifle in mandai. 40 days straight in db and no future forever. did we ask for this? did we volunteer to hold guns which might anytime send us on our way away from the beautiful future we all envision? we are all people in here by draft, given the killing equipment and made to abide by laws which we never first agreed. and if one escapes a country's law by moving out, there's no moving out of this shiat. sighs, and misfires too. every live firing brings fear in my heart, and after every successful live firing warrents a great celebration of me edging closer to avoiding my future being desecrated. it is in agony for anyone to realise this deep shit we are in. some are still excited at entering the army, some of us are just holding there doing the bare minimum and getting out asap, some are struggling their lives to be the best. i know this is life. and for this life i will press on, carefully to make sure i do nothing wrong and get to see the beautiful world as it was before i entered army.
im still addicted to carrie underwood's 2 great songs, inside your heaven and the best - jesus take the wheel. they really bring me light and motivation in the darkest nights of a caged bird's life. now i finally understand why mr seow listens to heaven by dj sammy/bryan adams and describes it as the song that led him thru his darkest times. i just found mine, and realised my path in the army. my section members are a great bunch. i have too, just found my greatest memories in life.
i wun forget this period of time.
