there was a heart warming scene today and here is how it goes.
i was on the bus to school early morning today. as usual, i was just staring into space not bothering about people around me which is really not the point for this discussion or description.. ok, 1 sec sch boy, 1 yjc girl, 1 ajc girl sitting in a straight line one behind the other. this sec sch boy tapped the yj girl to ask for tissue or sth but realised that she doesnt have. ok, tot it might be the end of the story but in the next minute or so, she decided to take up some courage to ask the aj girl infront for tissue for the boy. all this while, the boy was already resigned that he wudnt be getting any favours. of cos, to his surprise, his gift was passed 2 seats back and finally he had a smile.
beautiful issnt it? small things make life different. it wud be so much a duller place shud the middle person choose to give up the link and sit there waiting for something to happen. are you the missing link in most events in your life? would it change should you decide to do something? will you have put smiles on faces around you and make urself equally happy?
when the tissue paper made its way back to the aj girl again, all was calm and equilibrium restored. the earphones went back to action, the notes flew into place as if they are just a few minutes away from destruction and/or sleep sets in for the entire journey. the barrier still remains. its so representative of the true barrier that exists in education today. are we all in the same system but yet distinct from one another because of school? are the educators all educators or corporate workers for each school such that secrets thrive between schools and little help is offered across? do we really have that integrated education system whereby we trust and believe in it to be able to bring the true spirit of education? of cos, i knew my answer on the bus the moment silence fell when the tissue made its last journey.
