determination

there is a reason why university means so much to us.
it is because society tells us that this is the last exam
this is the only piece of result that determines your working life's value
for all the years of exams that have passed,
nothing has been important unlike what our teachers used to say.

that kinda explains the tightness we feel in university
contrary to senior reports that university is the slackest time.
perhaps it is the best time of your life and the time that
you treasure freedom the most because you are about to lose it.

that every quiz and exam is of paramount importance
that we can safely chuck our ethics away
and if we are desperate in situations where we did not revise or not know the answer
we will resort to cheating.

that is the way it has turned out to be.

but perhaps it has not dawned on most of us that
no matter how beautifully decorated that piece of paper is,
in the end it is our character that makes us tick
it is the quality of judgement and the decision making ability
that companies crave.

that is truly the purpose of education that has not been
adequately driven across in our fanatical education system

that is the real intangible results that will be written over our foreheads
when interviewers check us out.

that will be what that keeps us strong in time and ready to tackle
any obstacles that stand in our way.

that is how we should progress.

and perhaps this is, after all, nature's way of Darwin evolution.
that the strongest survives.

I believe that if you are determined in whatever you do, you should never fail. you are always one step closer to achievement.
I have failed many times in my aimless pursuit of something. but it does not stop me from trying. "The reason they rejected me is because I lousy and not up to their standard."
That makes me want to get up and fight back even more.
All the way.
That is how you should to.

And, to all A level studs getting back your results this friday, let this be a telling message to you. If you think your results are not important, think again. If you think your results are lousy, you are. If you think it is the end of the world, it will.
