change yourself

when i was a kid, i wanted to change the world.
as i grew up to a teenager, i realised that that is impossible.
then, i wanted to change society.
when i turned 21, i decided that it was tough to change society.
i decided to change the community i live in.
as time progressed, i slowly thought that maybe i shud just change my family.
after my life journey, before death, i never achieved a single thing.
maybe in the first place i shud haf just changed myself.

change yourself was the heading for the recruit page i was reading this morning. interesting. i think many a time we go into things thinking that we are not going to give in, we want to stick to our beliefs. but perhaps what you should realise if there's no headway in the situation is that you should rethink about your actions, about how you could change to get things moving. we are all guilty of this: losing people we treasure, being a moment too late, hurting others and many more.

i was informed by my mom today that my grandma's sister passed away on the day i typed my last post. it was a great journey for her, the last of my grandma's generation. too bad i was in camp, din get to see her one last time.
anyways, on a much lighter note, the recruit section was rather intriguing to a certain extent. was looking thru the jobs when i came across this NTU recruitment advertisement. for all the jobs i have seen on offer, the minimum requirement of 5 years working experience was stated. hmms, just a few days ago SMU painted such a rosy picture of their class of 2006 finding jobs in 6 months, getting so high pay. i wonder if that's really reality or its some kind of delusion that even the universities in singapore are confused or deliberately portraying. i really wonder if you do not even get support from the very organisation you come from, who will. or maybe, just maybe, the universities here are not even confident at the quality education they put people thru. its such a joke.
ok, im quite into spending nowadays, dunno why. quite tempted by DSLRs on the market, aiming the Nikon DSLR D80 kit + AF 70-300mm G Lens, 2Gb SD, Lowenpro Bag, Tripod, LiON Battery for $1900. still looking for lobang to buy it 2nd hand to save some cash, and hopefully it will kick start some good photo taking on weekends when my frens are not out for some gathering. at least it will keep me occupied and at the same time develop passion in tat area :0
