what a way 2008 ended.
first sem results was good, surpassing expectations.
won a soccer match in the most drama way with a 3 goal comeback on 30th.
won in dota 3 times in a row right before midnight of the last day of 2008; it is significant as this is the first time in many years that we are playing together again and winning again (:
even xmas day's turkey was kind and forgiving, turning so tender and lovely.
in the last 1 month, i took probably some of the nicest photos i have ever taken of sports. the joy, the pain and the drama.
my tuition kids are increasing yet again. with maybe 4 tuitions/week for the new year (:

what a way 2008 progressed.
on the back of ORD-ing, 2008 promised great stuff. what excitement it turned out to be.
i guess it is dream fulfilled when i taught in aj for 6 months. it was a good experience that will follow me through.
den, moonlighting outside, i had another wonderful experience in events planning. it was fun working in suntec city office building, involving myself in quite afew events, mixing around with the Koreans in the place. it kind of made me realise what the corporate world is all about and how uncertain but yet exciting this path may reveal. what a way to top up this short 1 month with a meetup with all the sports people of Singapore in the Singapore Sports Awards 2008.
den came the decision that i had to make.

sometimes when you get an opportunity that knocks on ur door once in a lifetime, you say yes immediately and when you are about to execute it, many things start to fill your mind.
i guess a combination of many things and how the year progressed began to affect and eventually plunge the knife into the craziest idea of my life.
and so, i dropped imperial college for dear NTU.
there had to be no regrets. i repeat to myself. there were pros and cons. i will walk the path now with confidence and even more determination, with no intention of looking back.
i will.
with that, i dont think i will ever look back too.

this was also a year of investment. of course, i wud admit sheepishly that it was quite a wrong year. but i learnt. and i am still hoping that the economic slumber (i refuse to call it a crisis. what crisis when it were just figures in the first place) begins to ease and my mooolah start to grow again.
i dont think you wud be sleeping well if you see a red bracket with many many figures in there. haha. but well, it does help to know that it is unrealised gain and soon it will boil over and the rosy picture will be back!
nonetheless, keep working on my tuition and keep saving!
i shall begin my extensive plans to save for exchange and a 3 months travel trip in the coming year. hope it all goes well!

ntu life started even without me taking any break from work in aj.
very quickly, i was in hall freshmen orientation camp and making new frens. making frens with people as young as my sis.
school prolly accelerated in pace for the next 2 months with DnD preparations that was surely memorable and eye-opening. of cos, it gave me a chance to experience something that i will not experience before. most of my frens would have agreed that i will never indulge in such stuff but i guess it was just an opportunity to do something that will never knock on my door again.
i am 21 this year.

and den i decided to give my first year to JCRC Hall 10, running for publications secretary.
so far, there are things that i really feel can be improved and stuff and am still wanting to put in more effort to make sure it works and happens. afterall, it is something that i feel for and believe that it should be done with finesse. and so this thing took up my another 1/3 of school life, not forgetting the IH games that kicked off right after exams.
FINALLY, school work took the final 1/3 as it was a crazy push for the final exams that came so quickly. i realised that uni is not a place for the uninformed and you are expected to find out things by yourself. as usual, i do not bother having much frens in my course and many times things such as senior's lab report.. strategies for blah blah never make them to my ears and hands. but who cares. i believe i cud do it all myself.
it was equally scary that i was still giving 3 tuitions/week up till the first week of exams, something that i cud never believe that i did. who is so insane to do that kind of shit?
i guess.

what a way to usher 2009
to be frank, i am covered with bruises and scars. thanks to IH soccer.
what a way to welcome 2009.
well, the battle scars that i have accumulated over the past 21 years, not only the physical ones that follow me through today, are going to make 2009 an even stronger and richer year.
trust me, i have always believed in setting goals and targets and working to fulfill them.

i will update with my targets and aspirations for the new year soon!
