jubilation

ah! back after a week of really hectic shit, but well, definitely not as bad as days of sispec or bmt, jaguar coy to be specific since many find bmt a stroll in the park. had my rapier ada summary exercise of 3 days 2 nights so the week was basically preparation for the operation, the operation itself, and cleaning up of stores. anyways! came back to camp on thursday noon, had a great wash up, headed down to hangar for e cleaning up of stores and returning of equipment. had a nights out since dinner was not indented for us, but it was really disappointing that lot1 dint haf sushi dinner buffet for both sakae and suki! sighs. damn, in the end ate kfc and stuff around. well, at least it was still a treat for the finishing of summary exercise, which also means the attaining of our rank and the imminent end of our 9 weeks course! today was quite crappy, just simple stuff to do, and we had to driclad back the systems (well i will skip most of the jargons) and got to book out at 1pm. weeee! going to have a gd rest tonight.
heh, anyways, i definitely haf to talk about e 3 days of hell right? ok, here's e story of my 3 days. we reached this really beautiful site at tuas end, e hockey stick on the map facing the sea. it was a flat sandy land with sparse vegetation that went 'miles and miles out' without any trees nearby. while e skyline was simply beautiful cause of that, our skin beared the brunt of it for 3 days. my firing unit (our airforce/ada equivalent of army's platoon) was first to deploy the entire system, which was helluva messy. rovers running over the place, the 11 of us - 8 spec-to-be, and 3 officer cadets - scurrying to get the things into place. had a break inbetween, but we pushed on and completed most of the deployment by 7pm, just noting that we began at 1130am would show how difficult and troublesome e rapier system is. anyways, the 7 plus hours included digging in the cables to conceal them from view, putting on camouflage nets onto the main equipment, setting up the admin area tentage and camouflage net, digging the missile area (some 10m x 10m x 1m deep shit - thanks to firing unit 2 who helped us with that :p otherwise we wud tkae e entire night and our lives along), digging our shellscrapes and setting up the communication lines. after we set up our deployment, we had to man the system with shift work for the operator and sentry positions, while the rest do minor stuff or rest in the admin area. this was still well within our physical ability until we were stretched much more from battle ejects. to put that jargon simply, from 7pm until 12am at midnight, we were flying over the entire place with senarios thrown to us, such as man down (have to tend to him, fireman lift etc), arty bombardment in 20seconds, equipment on fire, generator not working, enemy behind our lines and stand-to-ing. they dont come one by one, but instead they are simultaneous if not sequential back to back without much rest. finally we got our deserved rest by handing over the duty of manning e entire deployment to firing unit 2 to enjoy e long night ahead (firing unit 2 had a good sleep earlier though). we had our sleep until 7am... come 7am, we were woken up and made to continue digging the missile pit following up where firing unit 2 left out earlier the day before. it continued until noon, and we were almost shacked out without much arm power left. Firing unit 2 were still being tortured from 12am when we handed over until our lunch after digging e pit. it was still good, to see the time passing as we know 3 days up and we would be gone. we learnt missile loading drill later, before we were presented the final part of the torture. 4 games to play to decide who will ceasefire the entire deployment, and redeploy at night, and ceasefire the next day. no firing unit was willing to lose definitely, as it would take our lives to do that shit! the first game was sick, and our Sir refered it to Battle Royale (i was just talking abt it in camp - i know i shudnt haf -.-) we had to hide ourselves with camouflage techniques in the flat grassland, where there were few places to hide and much to run. the firing unit with most ppl caught wud lose e game. the survival will last 40 mins. of cos, all of us went to find our spots to hide by walking some 500m plus away from our area. i went to the side of the entire grassland and hide by e lalang along e pavement by e road haha. it was a simple spot that wudnt be found out that played with the rules of the game, but i dint give a damn den. we soon found out e torture of this game is that of basking in the afternoon glaring rays and not give up. sighs, sadistic! oh anyway, obviously i wasnt found but our FU lost e round -.- ok, e next game was missile loading, which was fairly straightforward, e one with e best timing wins. our FU finally won hah. den, to our surprise there was no game 3 and 4, and we were told surprisingly to ceasefire the entire deployment instead, for our bbq at night. we were quite puzzled but played by ear and did wad we had to. after that, we were allowed to rest but most of us K.Oed until 10+ when we were woken up and told that e rover driving e food over broke down and would be towed back to camp and e food would only come at 12am -.-. Ok save e details for tat period, we finally had our bbq and ate 'quite' happily la. save e details again, though it was one of the few times i got angry with ppl. sir den said he was lying to us abt e stakes and it was just to play e games -.- sighs. e 3rd game would be commando raiding of e deployment, which would have been realyl fun but we had no time and no energy left to play it so he scrapped it. and so, we partied through the night. next morning, we packed up and left e place early, to our extreme delight. haha. wells, there were quite abit of photos taken of course, but i haven gotten my hands on them. be assured once i haf them, they would be uploaded here! stay tuned :p
and so, tat was my 3 days of 'almost hell'.
and life if beautiful again
and im so gonna get my 3sg rank soon
heh!
