so that others may live

so that others may live
got this motto from US coast guard which i tot was particularly meaningful. i mean the underlying idea here is more of being selfless more than something as big as sacrifising your life(i mean, tat's a coast guard quote like duh). and my, that quote quite hit me hard in the mind. all my life, it has been revolved around pragmatism, encircled by practicality and topped up with a certain tinge of selfishness. i can name you countless and countless of events that really reflect that in myself but it is really not something that i wud kind of wish to put up with the rest of my life. i really wish to change this bloody stupid that plagues me, of cos not totally i mean. trust me, im learning how to give more than i should take, learning to be a little more selfless in many small ways for a start. i was equally amazed when i shouldered the bulk of the blame spontaneously and firmly during a minor incident in camp when my guy actually broke a rule and i covered him up. yes, i know that there wud be repercussions to come, but that very moment i went in with the intention of protecting the poor guy, hoping that that wud do sth for him and ultimately, for myself. skeptics call this stupidity, but to me, at least today, i know that i can still stand up to things when the time calls for it. and that's what that is really important to me.

anyways, i kinda think that im quite surrounded by weird ppl ever since primary school.. check these out:

sheesh. i must admit that i feel quite ashamed haha. but yea, there are definitely many other better moments which we do share that are not cataloged. its amazing, its some 7-8 years down the road already and most of us are still together, doing the same thing, enjoying the company of each other.. rock on man.

its chinese new year! 7 minutes into the new lunar year, its quite a different feeling this year round for me, prolly because its celebrated with a different approach from the previous. last year, it was a celebration coupled with the start of my ns life and the looming A level results. this year it marks a new beginning and a couple more months left before my maiden freedom since a long long time. heh, i know i am should be making wishes right now instead of rocking hard on the keyboard so here it goes:
i hope to be able to study in UK without any financial worries
i hope to be able to play better soccer!
i hope manu wins this season
i hope for the health of everyone
i hope for prosperity for everyone
i hope to get money to fund my DSLR, travel laptop, 20L backpack, new desktop and Guess watch. man... heh
ok man, tat's alot of wishes i know, maybe with some hardwork too, they may come true.
for now i shall sign off, and prepare for tmr. great days up ahead, hope you guys enjoy the lunar new year festival, wishing all a happy golden pig year ahead!
