i finally got down to revise my wishlist for this year, and i really hope some angel can come blessing me with all of these :)

we are all bounded by rules or laws in one way or another. some are written and portrayed black and white.
it is what makes people disciplined, basically. it would be hard to imagine a lawless society where crimes become so common (and, dun give the bullshit that people might not necessarily become bad without the shadow of the law; you know it bloody aint the case.) this is also what most people argue that causes us to lose creativity and innovation simply because we are tired at the negative outcomes when challenging the rules of the game. the rigidity, the red tape simply irks people. but still there are people who live on with it, ask any singaporean about this if you do disagree. you know what i mean. yet, this is what that makes people great, organisations thrive and countries prosper on paper. and this is called the black and white law.
there are also, rules in life that are written black and white but yet many of us do not seem to realise it in the first place.
many who watched the midweek Lille game with Manchester United will have to agree with the controversy that shrouded the referee's decision to make manu's goal stand valid. it was reiterated in many previous occasions that in the rule book the rule stated simply that a freekick can be taken without the whistle from the referee unless he indicates so.
protest as you may, and you will realise the power of the pen.
likewise, bring the scope to the local scene, many people are still absolutely ill-informed of the media law in singapore binding, mainly, the use of the internet and its contents. how many of you would have known that its a criminal offence to tap onto the wireless connection of someone else's before the scapegoat beared the brunt of that crime. how many of you would staunchly feel sadness and disgust over the way Tammy(NYP dude) handled her porn film with such a brazen behaviour(laughing in her blog over the situation) when in actual fact she should have been bloody in jail after upsetting the law in singapore? no one bothered about that. instead what we all bothered was to hop onto the internet and get her videos, sharing with friends. and when the time comes that we are in deep soup over a downloaded content, we begin to question the validity of the law, the presence of the law and subsequently the defence of "i do not know". it is not an excuse of cos.
there's no law that stipulates not knowing the law and hence failing to obey it. you will be duly punished, Lille players would have no hesitation to tell you that now. and when that happens, the world will have an added knowledge over something they previously not know.
and, there are some rules in life that are not written down black and white. absolutely.
i dont assume there's some sort of almanac kinda stuff which tells people how much money to pack in a hongbao to give someone during chinese new year. of cos, its no wrong to not know and pack $1 buck if you are new to packing such stuff. but you will bear the backlash which comes from the relatives' gossip, the badmouthing which spreads across families and the jurisdiction of one's poor grasp of knowing how much to give or even worse, the consensus of being stingy. afterall, who the hell has to know that the market rate's 4bux for the cheapest hongbao around nowadays, and you should give like 10, 20 bux to closer relatives?
aptly pointed out by just Follow Law (i must admit its quite a decent show by jack neo's standard, gd acting by fann and gurmit and good script which was pleasing and flowing) that there's an important law which we have to follow in an organisation: never skip the hierarchy
when you want to settle something. there is a standard channel for voicing out unhappiness, to give suggestions and not abiding to that channel, though never stipulated, will get you into deep shit especially with the ranks you skipped. guns will beginning firing at you in all directions although you tot you have already gotten the job done - you merely accentuated your own set of problems. you know what i mean, i aint saying more.
